Like any other punk looking to leave their mark on the bathroom wall, I am shamelessly writing my thoughts on the Internet. And anyone can read them. But no one will know who I am.

I could be the gal behind the check-out counter…your sister…your best friend…your classmate. I could be the most popular cheerleader in your high school, or the homely nerd. I could be a worldwide celebrity or a nobody who has never done anything of any importance. I could be the girl next door.

But I am a teenage girl. Sixteen going on seventeen, as the song says. I’m one person…I write in this blog alone and no one knows my secret. No one. You’ll learn bits and pieces about me as time goes on. But not too much.

I have thoughts and opinions swirling around in my head all the time, and this is my outlet.

I’m a busy girl with a full life, and I don’t know a whole lot about blogs and websites. My internet is too slow to watch videos from YouTube or to download music in a reasonable amount of time. But this is a crazy world and I don’t want to be blind to it. My eyes are wide-open and I see things in a way that may or may not interest some people. And sometimes I am so full I could burst. This is where I’ll vent. These Internet pages are my way of expressing myself.

I’ll often comment on politics and the world in general. I’m a Christian…that’s the core of my life…you may as well know that now. But I am not predictable, some of the things I say will shock you. I’ll also come home from soccer practice and just vent. I’ll talk about human nature and funny things that happen when you’re an American girl in high school in the year of our Lord 2008. These are crazy times and I’m just one heartbeat in the massive, throbbing pulse of a confused world and a wild nation.

But you might be surprised at some of the thoughts of your average Girl Next Door.
